1) What is a Virtual Bookkeeper?
A Virtual Bookkeeper is a highly skilled professional who provides daily, weekly or monthly bookkeeping services for businesses. Virtual Bookkeepers use current technology to administrate client’s bookkeeping needs via the internet, email, express post, courier or local pick up and delivery.
2) Why should I outsource my bookkeeping work?
The bottom line is that outsourcing will save you money. There is no need to provide office space or equipment for your virtual employee. There are no additional expenses such as payroll taxes, employee benefits, sick time, breaks, holiday time or vacation pay. Businesses also save money by only paying for time worked. At Data Soup we only bill for hours actually required to complete your bookkeeping needs. Additionally, there are no costs related to training your virtual employee, as they are very familiar with their computer and the software that they use.
3) Who are your clients?
Our clients vary greatly. At Data Soup we provide bookkeeping for small to medium sized businesses whether they are proprietorships or corporations. Currently we have many types of clients: sole proprietor massage therapists and dance instructors, catering and restaurant corporations, contractors and non-profit organizations.
4) What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?
A bookkeeper handles the day-to-day financial record keeping and reporting for businesses.
An accountant specializes in the preparation and filing of taxes.
Having a bookkeeper can alleviate the stress at tax time because your information will be organized, clear and ready for your accountant.
5) Will Data Soup do our taxes?
We believe it is best to let the experts handle the preparation and filing of your tax return. Of course we would be happy to work with your accountant to easily transfer information to help in this preparation.
6) What accounting software do you use?
At Data Soup we use QuickBooks and Simply Accounting.
7) Do I need to purchase any particular software to view my financial reports?
The only software we require you to have to view your reports is Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded for free at http://get.adobe.com/reader/
